Colorado Boudoir Studio: What To Wear?

We are back with another long-awaited installation of what to wear? We are big advocates for wearing your lingerie at our Colorado boudoir studio for several reasons! First, we LOVE all the unique wardrobe pieces that walk through our studio. We also understand that every woman has their style, fit, and they want to make it a personal experience. When you bring your closet to your session, the feel of the photos goes to another level! Seriously, clients are more comfortable and fall in love with their photos more often because there is always a story behind what they wear. Take some notes because you will love these suggestions!

The Color Black

The color black looks good on everyone. This is why our Colorado boudoir studio suggests the color black! It’s also the one color most clients already have in their closet, so if you are not planning on shopping before your boudoir photography session, make sure you grab one of your favorite black pieces from your closet.

The Color Red

We love big, bold colors. The color red looks great on just about anybody, but you also want to keep in mind the shade of red you choose. You will want to make sure it is a high-quality fabric because if it is not, the color will make the color in your photos not look good. Lately, we’ve seen brides incorporate their wedding colors into their Colorado boudoir studio photoshoot! We love this idea, and you should check this article out by the Knot about picking the perfect palette.

Slippers

If being a homebody is your thing, make sure you bring your favorite slippers! Sunday Funday is our favorite day of the week, and if we could wear PJ’s to photograph your session, we would, LOL. The slippers always come in handy when looking to do a few detailed photos. Your significant other loves your toes, and maybe they were the ones that bought those cozy slippers you brought to your session. Our Colorado boudoir studio is all about making your boudoir photoshoot personal and memorable!

Baby blue bodysuit

We love pale colors, like baby blue. Pale colors always look great with bold, smoky eye makeup! The color baby blue also gives you a feminine, delicate look for your boudoir photography session, especially if you are a bride. We love when our clients bring along four very different outfits; because it means your session will have a variety of photos to choose from!

The FAB closet

We have recently realized we don’t brag enough about our FAB closet! This gorgeous black robe is one of our newest editions. If you’ve been following along for a while, you know we love a beautiful robe! We live in our robes when we are outside our Colorado boudoir studio. Robes are great for laying or wearing on their own. You can never go wrong, and if you ever want to try one of our robes on during your session, we will be more than happy to snap a few photos!

Heels

Wedding heels, sexy heels, work heels, and your favorite heels are always welcome. We recently had a client who purchased heels for her session just so she could take a photo like this one! We will offer one piece of advice on heels. If you do not wear heels every day, it’s okay not to wear heels at all during your session. Your significant other won’t even notice!
